Iran's Retaliatory Strikes Rock Gulf States as US-Iran Tensions Escalate

Iran's continued attacks on US assets in the Gulf raise fears of a widening conflict in the region. Explosions reported in Dubai, Doha and Manama as Tehran strikes back.
Tensions between the United States and Iran have escalated sharply in recent days, with a series of retaliatory strikes rocking major cities across the Gulf region. Iran has unleashed a barrage of missile and drone attacks targeting US military installations and other assets throughout the area, in what appears to be a coordinated campaign of retaliation for the killing of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani by a US drone strike earlier this month.
The latest wave of explosions was reported in Dubai, Doha and Manama, the capital cities of the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Bahrain, respectively. While details remain murky, initial reports suggest the attacks were carried out by Iran-backed militias or possibly Iranian forces directly, in a dramatic escalation of the simmering conflict.
