Iran Warns Neighbor Over Occupying Strategic Island: Escalating Tensions in the Gulf

Iran's parliament speaker issues a stern warning to a regional neighbor as the US administration talks peace while dispatching more troops to the conflict.
Tehran has issued a stern warning to a regional neighbor, stating that it will not tolerate the occupation of one of its strategically important islands in the Persian Gulf. The warning comes as the US administration continues to discuss peace while simultaneously committing additional troops to the ongoing conflict in the region.
The warning was issued by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the speaker of the Iranian parliament, who emphasized that Iran would not hesitate to take action if the island was occupied. The island in question is Greater Tunb, one of three islands that Iran has controlled since 1971 but are also claimed by the United Arab Emirates.
