Iranian-Americans in LA Celebrate U.S.-Israel Strikes on Iran

Iranian-Americans in Los Angeles rally in support of the recent U.S. and Israeli military strikes targeting Iran, seeing it as a hopeful sign for their homeland.
Iranian-Americans in Los Angeles took to the streets on Saturday to celebrate the U.S. and Israeli military strikes on Iran, expressing hope that the attacks could lead to positive change in their homeland. Waving Iranian flags and chanting slogans, the demonstrators gathered in front of the federal building to voice their support for the airstrikes that killed a top Iranian general and destroyed several militia targets.
Many of the protesters fled Iran decades ago due to political oppression and human rights abuses under the country's theocratic regime. Now living in the relative freedom and prosperity of the U.S., they see the recent attacks as a sign that the Islamic Republic's grip on power may be weakening. As one protester put it, "This is a glimmer of hope for the Iranian people who have suffered under this brutal regime for 40 years."
