Iranians Burn Effigies of Trump and Netanyahu at Warship Victim Rally

Thousands of Iranians gathered in Tehran to mourn the victims of the downed Ukrainian airliner, burning effigies of U.S. President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.
Iranians in Tehran gathered in massive numbers to mourn the victims of the downed Ukrainian airliner, with many protesters burning effigies of U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The demonstration, which drew thousands, was the latest in a series of rallies and vigils held across Iran since the Jan. 8 crash of the Ukraine International Airlines flight, which killed all 176 people on board.
The tragedy has sparked outrage in Iran, where the government initially denied responsibility before later admitting that the plane was mistakenly shot down by an Iranian missile. The military said the airliner was mistaken for a hostile target amid heightened tensions with the United States.
