Among the injured were a 12-year-old boy and a five-year-old girl, both reported to be in serious condition.
The attacks marked a significant escalation in the ongoing tensions between Iran and Israel, with the latter's vaunted Iron Dome air defense system unable to stop the barrage. Residents of the targeted cities described scenes of chaos and panic as the missiles rained down, sowing terror and destruction across the region.
