According to the family's account, the young toddler, identified as Mohammad al-Jedi, was home with his mother when Israeli troops raided their residence in the Rafah refugee camp in southern Gaza. The soldiers then interrogated and assaulted the child, going to extreme lengths to force him to reveal details about his father's whereabouts and activities.
Eyewitnesses reported that the soldiers verbally threatened the child, shook him violently, and even pulled his hair in an effort to coerce him into providing information. The family claims the toddler was traumatized by the experience and is now receiving psychological treatment to cope with the aftermath.
