Israelis Stand Firm as World Shuns Conflict with Iran

Explore the widening divide between Israel's staunch support for the Iran conflict and the growing global opposition, as economic consequences mount worldwide.
Israelis remain steadfastly behind their country's conflict with Iran, even as international support wanes and the economic toll mounts worldwide. Despite the disruptions to everyday life, with 15 deaths and hundreds injured from Iranian missile strikes, over 90% of Jewish Israelis support the ongoing war.
In stark contrast, 60% of the U.S. public oppose the conflict, and just one in four Americans backed the initial strikes. Across the Gulf, Europe, and Asia, the unpopular war is widely seen as inflicting severe economic consequences.
This new Middle East crisis has exposed widening fractures between Israel and its traditional allies. As Iran dismissed a U.S. ceasefire proposal on Wednesday, Israel finds itself increasingly out of step with global opinion on the conflict.
