Kneecap Rapper Escapes Terrorism Trial After High Court Ruling

Irish rapper Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh won't face terrorism charges over an alleged Hezbollah flag display, as the high court upholds dismissal of the case.
Kneecap rapper Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh, who performs under the name Mo Chara, will not face a terrorism charge for allegedly displaying a Hezbollah flag during a gig. The high court in London has upheld the decision to dismiss the case against the 28-year-old artist.
Ó hAnnaidh had been charged with the offense for allegedly showcasing the flag of the proscribed group during a performance at the O2 Forum in Kentish Town, north London, in November 2024. However, the high court has now rejected an appeal by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) to reinstate the case, delivering a victory for the Irish rapper.
