Kurdish Resistance in Iran Faces Uphill Battle Without International Backing

Experts analyze the challenges Iranian Kurdish forces would face in launching an uprising against the Iranian regime without support from the US, Israel, and other foreign powers.
Kurdish forces in Iran would struggle to mount a successful uprising against the Iranian government without protection and support from the United States, Israel, and other international powers, according to analysts.
Yerevan Saeed, a Middle East analyst, warns that Iranian Kurdish groups lack the necessary firepower and resources to take on the Iranian military on their own. "The Kurdish forces in Iran simply do not have the capabilities to challenge the Iranian regime without external backing," Saeed said.
Iran has a long history of cracking down harshly on Kurdish dissent, with the government viewing any Kurdish autonomy or separatism as a major threat to its authority. Iranian security forces have violently suppressed Kurdish protests and uprisings in the past, often targeting Kurdish civilians and arresting Kurdish activists and leaders.
