Lebanese-Palestinian Refugees Endure Conflict's Devastating Toll

As Israel's bombings hit Lebanon, Palestinian refugees in the region face renewed displacement, insecurity, and trauma in their long-suffering camps.
Palestinian refugees in Lebanon are once again enduring the devastating consequences of conflict, as Israel's bombardment of the country has forced many to flee their homes in search of safety. The ongoing violence has exacerbated the already precarious living conditions and deep-rooted trauma experienced by these vulnerable communities.
For decades, Palestinian refugees have sought refuge in Lebanon, often settling in overcrowded and under-resourced camps that have become synonymous with poverty, instability, and marginalization. Now, as the latest round of hostilities unfolds, these camps have become the epicenter of a new humanitarian crisis, with residents facing the grim prospect of further displacement and suffering.
The Ain el-Hilweh camp, located near the southern city of Sidon, has been particularly hard hit. Bassam Saleh, a camp resident, describes the harrowing experience: "We are living in constant fear. The bombings are so close, and we don't know where to go. We've been through this before, and it's just as terrifying each time."
