Born in 1908, Gellhorn began her journalism career in the 1930s, covering the Great Depression and the Spanish Civil War. She went on to report from the frontlines of World War II, the Arab-Israeli conflicts, the Vietnam War, and numerous other major global events. Gellhorn's fearless and immersive style of reporting set her apart, as she often put herself in harm's way to capture the raw realities of war.
