Merz's Bureaucracy Reforms Fall Flat for Germans

A new survey reveals Germans are underwhelmed by Chancellor Merz's promises to reduce red tape, with little tangible progress seen so far.
Chancellor Merz's government came to power promising to slash bureaucracy and streamline processes for both citizens and businesses. However, a new survey shows that most Germans have yet to see any meaningful changes on the ground.
The study, conducted by a leading think tank, polled a representative sample of German residents and businesses. Over 70% of respondents reported little to no improvement in their dealings with government agencies and paperwork requirements since Merz took office.
