Messi Shines in Inter Miami's Debut at New Nu Stadium

Lionel Messi scores for Inter Miami as they open their new Nu Stadium with a draw in the MLS. David Beckham calls the new venue a 'dream come true' for the club.
Lionel Messi, the newly-signed Inter Miami captain, scored his team's first goal in the club's debut at their brand new Nu Stadium, as the match ended in a draw. The highly-anticipated opening of the $1 billion state-of-the-art venue was described by club co-owner David Beckham as a 'dream come true' for the young MLS franchise.
Messi, who joined Inter Miami earlier this summer in a blockbuster move, wasted no time in making his mark on the new stadium, scoring the opening goal in the 25th minute to give the home side the lead. However, the visiting team equalized late in the second half, resulting in a 1-1 final score.
