The social media giant disabled more than 150,000 accounts and Thai police arrested 21 individuals as part of a coordinated effort to dismantle these illicit operations that have targeted people around the world.
The operation was led by Thailand's Royal Thai Police Anti-Cyber Scam Center, working alongside the FBI and the U.S. Justice Department's Scam Center Strike Force. Meta investigators collaborated closely with law enforcement, acting on real-time intelligence sharing to identify and shut down these scam networks.
