Meta's New Prescription-Optimized Smart Glasses Offer Customized Fit

Meta unveils two new smart glass styles, the Ray-Ban Meta Optics Blayzer and Scriber, designed with adjustable features for improved prescription lens compatibility.
Meta, the tech giant formerly known as Facebook, has announced the release of two new smart glass styles tailored specifically for users with vision prescriptions. The Ray-Ban Meta Optics Blayzer and Scriber models feature a range of customizable design elements to ensure a comfortable, optimized fit for those requiring corrective lenses.
Unlike the regular Ray-Ban lineup, these new Optics Styles come equipped with overextension hinges, interchangeable nose pads, and adjustable temple tips – features that allow opticians to better customize the glasses to individual wearers. The overextension hinges, which were previously introduced with the Meta Ray-Ban Display, were notably absent from the standard Ray-Ban models.
The Blayzer style features a rectangular frame, while the Scriber offers a classic circular design. Both frames are engineered to support a wide range of prescription strengths, enabling users with varying degrees of vision impairment to take advantage of the smart glass technology.
"Our goal with the Optics Styles is to make our smart glasses accessible to as many people as possible," said a Meta spokesperson. "By incorporating customizable features, we're able to provide a comfortable and unrestricted wearing experience for those who require corrective lenses."
The announcement of the Optics Styles comes as Meta continues to expand its presence in the wearable technology market. The company's smart glass lineup, which includes the standard Ray-Ban and the Display models, has been steadily evolving to cater to the diverse needs of consumers.
With the addition of the Optics Styles, Meta is positioning itself as a leader in the prescription-friendly smart glass space, offering a more inclusive and customizable solution for users with vision impairments.
The Ray-Ban Meta Optics Blayzer and Scriber are now available for purchase through select retailers and the Meta online store. Pricing and availability may vary by region.
