Millions Face Discrimination Across Germany, New Study Finds

A comprehensive new study reveals the alarming extent of discrimination experienced by millions of people in Germany, across employment, housing, and public spaces.
Discrimination is a widespread and persistent issue in Germany, impacting millions of people in their daily lives, according to a major new study. The study, conducted by a leading research institute, paints a troubling picture of the barriers and challenges faced by those subjected to unfair treatment based on characteristics like race, gender, religion, or disability.
Researchers surveyed over 10,000 people across Germany and found that 44% of respondents had experienced some form of discrimination in the past two years, whether in the workplace, when searching for housing, or even in everyday public settings like the supermarket. The problem appears to be particularly acute for certain marginalized groups, with 60% of people with a migrant background reporting incidents of discrimination.
