NASA's Artemis Lunar Program Soars with Next Mission on the Horizon

NASA's triumphant Artemis moon mission has paved the way for the next flight, as the agency sets its sights on an upcoming Artemis III mission with a new crew to practice docking with the lunar lander.
With NASA's lunar comeback a galactic-sized success, the space agency is already preparing for its next Artemis flight. In a mission recently added to the schedule for next year, Artemis III's yet-to-be-named crew will practice docking their Orion capsule with a lunar lander, a critical step towards the ultimate goal of returning astronauts to the lunar surface.
The Artemis II mission, which recently returned to Earth after a triumphant moon flyby, has set the stage for an even more ambitious lunar exploration program. Astronauts on that flight captured never-before-seen views of the moon's far side, witnessed a total solar eclipse gracing the lunar scene, and set a new distance record for humanity's farthest journey from Earth.
