Navigating Medicare Advantage Changes: Tips for Patients Losing Doctors

Trojanowski feared losing access to a beloved doctor when her hospital system, UNC Health, exited the Humana Medicare Advantage network, affecting around 65,000 beneficiaries in North Carolina.
These network changes can create significant challenges for Medicare Advantage enrollees, who may struggle to find new in-network providers or face higher out-of-pocket costs. In response, federal and state lawmakers have proposed regulations to protect patient access to care, but progress on these efforts has been limited so far.
