NCAA Takes Legal Action Against DraftKings Over March Madness Trademarks

The NCAA files a federal lawsuit seeking to stop DraftKings from using 'March Madness' and other trademarked terms in their sports betting promotions, claiming it misleads fans about NCAA endorsement.
NCAA, the governing body for college sports in the United States, has filed a federal lawsuit against DraftKings, one of the leading online sportsbooks, alleging trademark infringement related to the use of terms associated with the NCAA men's and women's basketball tournaments, commonly known as March Madness.
The lawsuit, filed in the Southern District of Indiana, seeks an emergency restraining order to prevent DraftKings from using March Madness, Final Four, Elite Eight, and Sweet Sixteen in their sports betting products, promotional campaigns, or marketing efforts. The NCAA claims that DraftKings' use of these registered trademarks misleads fans into believing that the NCAA endorses or is affiliated with the company's sports betting offerings.
