Netanyahu Alleges Spain's 'Diplomatic War' Against Israel Over Gaza

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has accused Spain of waging a 'diplomatic war' against Israel and has removed the country from the Gaza coordination centre in response to what he sees as Spain's hostility towards Israel.

The coordination centre is responsible for managing the flow of goods and humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, which has been under a tight Israeli blockade since 2007. Netanyahu said Spain's inclusion in the centre was 'unacceptable' given the country's 'consistent hostility' towards Israel in international forums.

The move comes amid rising tensions between Israel and Spain over the latter's criticism of Israel's treatment of the Palestinians. Spain has been vocal in its support for Palestinian rights and has called for stronger EU action against Israel's occupation of the West Bank.
