Newborn Essentials Beyond Reach for 40% of UK Parents: Barnardo's Study
A recent survey conducted by the charity Barnardo's has revealed a concerning trend in the UK - four in 10 parents are struggling to afford essential items for the care of their newborn babies. The study, which polled 2,000 parents with children under the age of five, also found that nearly half (49%) felt their child had missed out on opportunities to learn or play due to the rising cost of living.
The findings highlight the growing financial strain faced by many families across the country, as the cost of raising a child continues to rise. Essential items such as diapers, formula, clothing, and healthcare can quickly add up, putting a significant burden on parents who are already stretched thin.
