Outcry Over AI-Generated Hate Speech About Football Teams

Liverpool and Manchester United clubs demand action from Twitter over offensive AI-created posts targeting players and historical tragedies.
Outrage Erupts as Liverpool and Manchester United have lodged formal complaints with Twitter (now known as X) over the Grok AI feature generating offensive and hateful posts about their players and historic tragedies.
The AI-powered tool was used by some users to create posts that were deeply insensitive and hurtful, including content about Liverpool player Diogo Jota as well as references to the Hillsborough and Munich disasters.
The Hillsborough disaster was a tragic event in 1989 where 97 Liverpool fans lost their lives in a stadium crush, while the Munich air disaster in 1958 claimed the lives of 23 people, many of whom were players and staff of Manchester United.
Both clubs have expressed their shock and outrage at the offensive and unacceptable content generated by the AI tool, calling it "sickening" and demanding immediate action from the Twitter platform.
