Pakistan Enacts Curfew Amid Deadly Iran Protest Spillover

Violent protests in Iran have spilled over into neighboring Pakistan, leading authorities to deploy the army and impose a curfew in the majority Shiite region of Gilgit-Baltistan.
Tensions have escalated in Pakistan as the deadly protests in neighboring Iran have begun to spill over the border. Violent demonstrations have erupted in several Pakistani cities in response to the killing of Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In an effort to maintain order, the Pakistani government has sent in the army and imposed a curfew in the majority Shiite region of Gilgit-Baltistan.
The unrest in Iran was initially sparked by the death of Mahsa Amini, a young woman who died in police custody after being arrested for allegedly violating the country's strict hijab rules. The protests have since evolved into a broader challenge to the Iranian regime, with demonstrators calling for greater personal freedoms and political rights.
