Paramount+ and HBO Max Merge to Create Streaming Powerhouse

Billionaire Paramount Skydance chief announces plan to combine HBO Max and Paramount+ into a single streaming service, aiming for over 200 million subscribers.
Paramount Skydance, the entertainment giant led by billionaire David Ellison, has announced plans to merge its Paramount+ streaming service with HBO Max. This strategic move comes just days after Paramount Skydance secured a takeover of Warner Bros Discovery, the parent company of HBO Max.
According to Ellison, the combined platform will bring together the best of both worlds, integrating major HBO Max titles such as The Sopranos, Sex and the City, and Succession, alongside popular Paramount offerings like Yellowstone and Survivor. Ellison believes this fusion will position the new streaming service to surpass 200 million direct-to-consumer subscribers, solidifying its place as a true industry heavyweight.
