Planning Inspectorate Enforces New Appeal Submission Process

The Planning Inspectorate is rolling out mandatory changes to how planning and enforcement appeals are submitted, with all appeals now required through the Appeal a planning decision service.
The Planning Inspectorate, the independent executive agency responsible for planning appeals in England and Wales, is enacting significant changes to the way enforcement appeals are submitted. Effective immediately, all planning and enforcement appeals must now be filed through the Appeal a planning decision service, a centralized online platform.
This transition represents a major shift in the appeals process, as applicants will no longer be able to submit enforcement appeals directly to the Planning Inspectorate. Instead, they must utilize the dedicated Appeal a planning decision portal, which guides users through the required steps and documentation. The move is part of the Inspectorate's ongoing efforts to streamline and modernize its operations, leveraging digital tools to improve efficiency and transparency.
