Powerful Cyclone Narelle Barrels Toward Far North Queensland, Packing 200 km/h Winds

Severe Tropical Cyclone Narelle intensifies to a dangerous category four storm, set to make landfall in Queensland on Friday with destructive winds and heavy rainfall.
Severe Tropical Cyclone Narelle, a massive storm system that has been rapidly intensifying in the Coral Sea, is now poised to make landfall in far north Queensland on Friday morning as a powerful category four storm, the Bureau of Meteorology has warned. The cyclone is expected to bring destructive wind gusts exceeding 225km/h, posing a serious threat to coastal communities in the region.
The storm system has undergone a rapid strengthening process over the past 48 hours, building from a category three to a fearsome category five on Thursday morning as it tracked westward, situated approximately 500km east of the town of Coen. Fueled by the warm waters of the Coral Sea, Cyclone Narelle has quickly transformed into a monster storm system that is now barreling toward the Queensland coast.
