Qatar, a close U.S. ally, has provided an official response to the recent U.S. strikes against Iran. In an interview with NPR's Leila Fadel, Majed Al-Ansari, a spokesperson for the Qatari government, shared his country's perspective on the escalating tensions in the region.
Al-Ansari emphasized Qatar's commitment to diplomacy and de-escalation, stating, "Qatar believes that the path to resolving conflicts in the region is through dialogue and diplomatic means, not through military confrontation." He acknowledged the complex geopolitical dynamics at play, noting that "Qatar has close ties with both the U.S. and Iran, and we believe it's important to maintain open channels of communication with all parties involved."
