Qatar PM Condemns Iran's 'Unacceptable' Attacks on US Bases

Qatar's prime minister speaks out against Iran's recent missile strikes on US military bases, calling the claims 'unacceptable and unjustified' amid rising tensions in the region.
Qatar's Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani has strongly condemned Iran's recent missile attacks on US military bases in Iraq, describing the claims as 'unacceptable and unjustified' amid the escalating tensions in the region.
In a statement released by the Qatari government, the Prime Minister stated that wisdom and self-restraint seem to be 'lacking these days', urging all parties to exercise caution and refrain from further escalation. He emphasized the importance of de-escalating the situation through diplomatic channels and returning to the negotiation table to find a peaceful solution.
The Prime Minister's comments come after Iran launched a series of missile strikes on two US military bases in Iraq in retaliation for the US drone strike that killed Iranian military commander Qassem Soleimani earlier this month. Iran claimed the attacks were targeting US 'terrorist' forces, but the US has dismissed these claims, stating that no American casualties have been reported.
