Qualcomm's Surprise: No Windows Gaming Handheld Reveals at GDC

Qualcomm's plans for gaming handhelds have shifted, with no announcements about their Snapdragon G Series or updates to the Snapdragon X line at the upcoming Game Developers Conference.
Qualcomm, the leading semiconductor company, has surprised the tech industry by announcing that it will not be unveiling any updates to its Snapdragon G Series gaming chips or the recently announced Snapdragon X line at the upcoming 2026 Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco.
In January, Qualcomm had hinted to The Verge that it might finally bring its powerful Arm-based Snapdragon processors to Windows gaming handhelds at the GDC, just in time to challenge Nvidia's first Arm gaming CPU and Intel's first dedicated handheld gaming chips. However, the company's plans have now shifted, and it will not be offering any such announcements or allowing journalists to try or benchmark these new products.
