Relatives of Slain Iranian General Qasem Soleimani Detained by US Authorities

The US has arrested the niece and grand-niece of late Iranian General Qasem Soleimani, a senior military commander killed in a 2020 drone strike. The family members are now in custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Qasem Soleimani, a prominent Iranian military commander, was killed in a 2020 drone strike ordered by former US President Donald Trump. Now, the US government has taken into custody two of Soleimani's relatives - his niece and grand-niece.
According to officials, the two women are currently being held by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). This move comes as tensions between the US and Iran remain high following the high-profile assassination of Soleimani, who was the leader of Iran's elite Quds Force.
