Robots Outpace Humans in Beijing's Cutting-Edge Half-Marathon

Humanoid robots from China showcase rapid advancements, leaving human runners in the dust during a challenging half-marathon race in Beijing.
Dozens of Chinese-made humanoid robots have showcased their impressive athletic capabilities, outpacing human runners in a half-marathon race held in Beijing on Sunday. Just a year after struggling to even get off the starting line, these advanced robots have made remarkable strides, leaving their human counterparts in the dust.
The race's inaugural edition in 2025 was plagued with technical difficulties, as many robots failed to even start the race, and most were unable to finish. However, this year's event saw a dramatic transformation, with more than 100 robots seamlessly navigating the course in parallel tracks to avoid collisions with the human runners.
