In a surprising statement, Rockstar Games has brushed off a recent data breach, assuring players that the incident will have no impact on the organization or its loyal fan base.
The gaming giant confirmed on Saturday that some of its data was compromised in a breach of a third-party provider. The hacker group known as ShinyHunters claimed responsibility, stating they had gained access to Rockstar's Snowflake cloud instances through Anodot, a cost-monitoring and analytics service.
