The assault marks a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict, with the Russian forces unleashing a barrage of nearly 700 drones and dozens of ballistic and cruise missiles.
The southern port city of Odesa was hit the hardest, with nine people losing their lives in the attacks. In the capital city of Kyiv, four individuals were killed, including a 12-year-old boy. Three fatalities were also reported in the Dnipropetrovsk region, and another person died in Zaporizhzhia oblast.
