Scottish Labour Leader Seeks SNP Rebuke Ahead of Holyrood Race

Anas Sarwar, the Scottish Labour leader, is distancing himself from UK Labour leader Keir Starmer in a bid to shift voter focus to the SNP's record and win crucial votes in the Holyrood election.
Sarwar is gambling that distancing himself from Keir Starmer and the UK Labour party will help him gain ground against the dominant Scottish National Party (SNP) in the upcoming Holyrood election. Speaking to a focus group in his hometown of Glasgow's southside, the Scottish Labour leader found that many voters are frustrated with the Labour government's early performance and disillusioned by the SNP's record in Holyrood, describing it as "scandal after scandal".
Organized by the public opinion researchers More in Common, the focus group discussion revealed a downbeat mood among Labour supporters who feel let down by the party's national leadership. As one participant, Alex, a betting shop manager, put it: "People look at Holyrood and think: 'Lets give them all a bloody nose'."
