Senegal Fights CAF Decision to Give AFCON Title to Morocco

Senegal appeals to the Court of Arbitration for Sport after CAF awarded the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations title to Morocco following a player walkout in the final match.
Senegalese football officials have filed an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) challenging the decision by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to hand over the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title to Morocco after the final match was abandoned due to a walkout by Senegalese players.
The controversial incident occurred when Senegal's players refused to take the field after a brawl broke out between the two teams shortly before the start of the second half. CAF later announced that Morocco would be declared the winners, citing Senegal's refusal to play as the reason for the decision.
Senegal has now taken legal action, arguing that the CAF's ruling was unfair and that they should be awarded the AFCON trophy. The country's football federation believes that the circumstances surrounding the abandonment of the match did not warrant stripping Senegal of the title they had rightfully earned.
