Shocking Massacre in Haiti's Agricultural Region Leaves 70 Dead

New reports reveal a devastating gang attack in Haiti's Artibonite farming area resulted in a death toll over 4 times higher than initial estimates, with 70 killed and 30 injured.
The small farming communities of Haiti's Artibonite region have been rocked by a horrific and deadly gang attack, with new reports confirming a death toll of at least 70 people - far exceeding initial estimates. According to human rights groups on the ground, the devastating raid has also left 30 individuals injured and displaced close to 6,000 residents from their homes.
The attack, which targeted the Gran Grif area, is just the latest in a long line of violent incidents plaguing the poverty-stricken nation. Police had initially reported only 16 deaths and 10 injuries, while civil protection authorities suggested a slightly higher toll of 17 fatalities and 19 wounded. However, on-site investigations and witness accounts have now painted a much darker picture of the scale of the carnage.
