Somalia Opposes Potential Israeli Military Base in Somaliland

Somali government warns that plans for an Israeli military base in the breakaway region of Somaliland could draw Somalia into external conflicts it wants to avoid.
Somalia has warned against any plans by Israel to establish a military base in the breakaway Somaliland region, saying it could drag the country into unwanted external confrontations.
Osman Dubbe, Somalia's information minister, told Al Jazeera in an interview that his government is closely monitoring the reported plans for an Israeli military presence in Somaliland, which declared independence from Somalia in 1991 but is not recognised internationally.
