A German tourist's attempt to pursue a $100,000 lawsuit against a New York City taqueria over the spiciness of its salsa has been dismissed by a federal judge. Faycal Manz, a German national, filed a complaint in October 2024, claiming he experienced unpleasant symptoms after eating tacos with salsa at the Times Square location of Los Tacos No 1.
However, the judge presiding over the case has rejected Manz's claims, ruling that the taqueria cannot be held liable for the customer's reaction to the spicy condiment. The lawsuit, which sought significant monetary damages, has been thrown out by the court.
