Staying Ahead of COVID-19: Autumn 2026 Vaccination Plan Unveiled

The government has accepted the JCVI's recommendations for the upcoming autumn 2026 COVID-19 vaccination program, ensuring continued protection for vulnerable groups.
As the world continues to navigate the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the government has announced that it has accepted the advice from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) regarding the eligibility for the upcoming autumn 2026 vaccination programme. This decision aims to ensure that the most vulnerable members of society remain protected against the virus.
Prioritizing the Most Vulnerable
According to the JCVI's recommendations, the autumn 2026 vaccination programme will target the following groups:
- Residents of care homes for older adults and their carers
- All adults aged 50 years and over
- Frontline health and social care workers
- All those aged 5 to 49 years in a clinical risk group, including pregnant women
This targeted approach aims to provide continued protection for the most vulnerable members of society, ensuring that they can maintain their health and well-being in the face of the ongoing pandemic.
