Sudanese Forces Reclaim Key City, Quell Rebel Threat

Sudanese army retakes strategic town of Bara and secures el-Obeid in North Kordofan, destroying dozens of rebel vehicles and killing many fighters in fierce clashes.
Sudanese military forces have successfully reclaimed the town of Bara and secured the city of el-Obeid in North Kordofan, according to a source who spoke to Al Jazeera. The source reported that the Sudanese army destroyed 32 combat vehicles belonging to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and killed dozens of RSF fighters during the clashes and drone attacks.
The recapture of Bara and the stabilization of el-Obeid are seen as significant victories for the Sudanese government, as these areas had been under the control of the RSF, a paramilitary group that has been engaged in a power struggle with the regular army. The RSF has been accused of committing human rights abuses and atrocities against civilians, particularly in the Darfur region.
