Surging Tensions: Lebanese Flee Homes Amid Israel-Hezbollah Conflict

As Israel retaliates against Iran-backed Hezbollah's attacks, Lebanese civilians are forced to flee their homes, seeking refuge along the Beirut coastline.
Beirut, Lebanon - Families with young children and the elderly can be seen huddled along the Mediterranean coast of Beirut, their homes abandoned as a result of the latest escalation in the ongoing conflict between Israel and the Iran-backed Hezbollah militant group. This flare-up marks the most significant clash between the two sides since the 2006 Lebanon War.
The crisis began when Hezbollah launched rocket attacks into northern Israel overnight, targeting civilian areas. Israel responded with a barrage of airstrikes and artillery fire, hitting targets across Lebanon that it claimed were Hezbollah weapons depots and infrastructure. The exchange of fire has left several people injured on both sides, and has prompted many Lebanese living near the border to flee their homes in search of safer ground.
