Surrey Businessman Banned From Directorship After Accruing £120K Tax Debt

A Surrey-based business advisor has been disqualified from serving as a company director for a second time after racking up a six-figure tax liability through a new consultancy firm.
Surrey businessman James Hyndman has been banned from acting as a company director for the second time after his latest venture accrued over £120,000 in unpaid taxes. The Insolvency Service found that Hyndman had ignored the lessons of his first disqualification, using a new consultancy firm to rack up a fresh six-figure liability.
Hyndman's history as a company director has been checkered, to say the least. In 2017, he was disqualified from serving in a directorial role for five years after his previous company, Procare Facilities Management Ltd, went into liquidation with an outstanding tax debt of over £300,000. Despite this prior experience, Hyndman apparently failed to apply the lessons learned and instead embarked on a new venture, Procare Consultancy Services Ltd, which met a similar fate.
The Insolvency Service investigation revealed that Hyndman had, once again, allowed significant tax liabilities to accrue through his new company. By the time Procare Consultancy Services Ltd entered into creditors' voluntary liquidation in 2020, it owed over £120,000 to HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC).
