TCL Takes Over Sony's TV Business in $473M Joint Venture

Sony partners with TCL to form Bravia Inc, a new joint venture that will assume Sony's home entertainment business including Bravia TVs, displays, and home theater systems.

The new wholly owned subsidiary, Bravia Inc., will assume responsibility for the research, development, design, manufacturing, and support of Sony's renowned Bravia televisions, as well as other flat-panel displays, projectors, home audio gear, and home theater systems.

The new entity will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of Sony's home entertainment products, from research and development to manufacturing, marketing, and customer support.
