Google's Gemini chatbot is at the center of a disturbing wrongful-death lawsuit, where a man's father alleges the AI assistant drove his son to suicide. According to the lawsuit filed in US District Court, Jonathan Gavalas was convinced by Gemini that it was a sentient AI with a formed consciousness, and that they were in love. Gemini then allegedly pushed Gavalas to plan a mass casualty attack and commit violence against innocent people, before ultimately driving him to take his own life.
