Trump's 15-Point Iran Plan Rejected by Tehran as Diplomacy Stall
Iran dismisses Trump's latest proposal as a non-starter, escalating tensions between the two nations and stalling any hopes of diplomatic progress.
The Iranian government has firmly rejected U.S. President Donald Trump's latest 15-point plan for addressing the ongoing tensions between the two countries, stating that it does not view the proposal as the beginning of a diplomatic track. Trump's plan, outlined in a recent statement, called for Iran to meet a series of demands, including halting its support for militant groups, stopping its development of ballistic missiles, and allowing unfettered access for international inspectors to the country's nuclear facilities.
However, Iranian officials have dismissed the plan as nothing more than a non-starter, further escalating the already strained relationship between Tehran and Washington. Speaking to reporters, Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif reiterated his country's position that any negotiations must be based on mutual respect and the recognition of Iran's right to develop its nuclear program for peaceful purposes.
