Trump's Defamation Lawsuit Against Wall Street Journal Dismissed

A US judge has dismissed former President Trump's lawsuit against the Wall Street Journal over a story about his ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, ruling the article did not defame Trump.
Former US President Donald Trump's defamation lawsuit against the Wall Street Journal has been dismissed by a US judge, who ruled that the newspaper's story about Trump's ties to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein did not defame the former president.
The lawsuit, filed in March 2021, claimed that a 2019 Wall Street Journal article falsely suggested that Trump had visited Epstein's private island in the Caribbean. Trump denied ever visiting the island and argued the article damaged his reputation.
However, US District Judge John Koeltl in Manhattan rejected Trump's claims, stating that the Wall Street Journal article was "substantially true" and did not contain any false statements about the former president.
