Trump's Fossil Fuel Push Sparks 'Dangerous Volatility'

Critics say Trump's policies of attacking Iran and blocking clean energy show the risks of relying on volatile fossil fuels.
Trump's aggressive policies toward Iran and his efforts to prop up the fossil fuel industry have inadvertently highlighted the dangerous volatility of the energy systems he is championing, according to critics.
The U.S. and Israel's bombardment of Iran and southern Lebanon has caused significant humanitarian and environmental damage, with the threat of further escalation set to add to these casualties as well as increase planet-heating emissions and destroy drinking water supplies.
At the same time, the president has taken extraordinary measures to block the clean energy transition back in the U.S., doubling down on his bet on oil and gas - a bet that critics say "isn't going so well."
