Trump's Iran Strikes Divide Americans: New Poll Reveals Stark Split

A recent Ipsos-Reuters survey shows that over half of Americans believe the US military action in Iran has not been worthwhile. Dive into the public's perception of the ongoing tensions.
A new nationwide survey from Ipsos and Reuters has revealed a stark divide in American public opinion over the Trump administration's military action against Iran. The poll, released on Tuesday, found that a slim minority 24 percent of Americans believe the costs and benefits of the conflict have been worthwhile, while a 51 percent majority feel the military action has not been worthwhile.
The survey results underscore the complex and contentious nature of the ongoing tensions between the United States and Iran, which have escalated significantly since the Trump administration's decision to withdraw from the 2015 nuclear deal and reimpose crippling economic sanctions on the Islamic Republic. The administration's targeted killing of top Iranian general Qassem Soleimani in January 2020 further inflamed the situation, prompting retaliation from Iran and raising fears of a wider regional conflict.
