Trump Stands Firm on Strait of Hormuz Security Despite Allies' Hesitation

US President Trump asserts that the US does not 'need' help securing the Strait of Hormuz, despite appeals for a coalition to address rising tensions in the region.
In a defiant stance, US President Donald Trump has stated that the United States does not 'need' assistance from allies to secure the Strait of Hormuz, despite his previous appeals for a coalition to address the rising tensions in the region.
Trump's comments come as several of America's key allies, including Germany, France, and the United Kingdom, have rejected joining a US-led coalition to protect commercial shipping in the strategic waterway. The president, however, did not name the countries he said were 'on their way' to join the effort.
