U.S. Eases Oil Shipping Regulations to Alleviate Skyrocketing Gas Prices

The U.S. government has temporarily suspended certain oil shipping regulations in a move to help ease the pressure on rising gas prices across the country.
In a bid to alleviate the ongoing strain on gas prices, the United States government has temporarily suspended a number of regulations surrounding the shipping and transportation of oil. This decision, made by the Biden administration, aims to increase the supply of gasoline and diesel fuel available to American consumers as prices continue to climb to record highs.
The Jones Act, a century-old maritime law, has been waived by the Department of Homeland Security, allowing foreign-flagged vessels to transport oil between U.S. ports. Typically, this law requires goods shipped between U.S. ports to be carried on ships that are built, owned and operated by Americans.
